So you're thinking about nude modeling...

There's many different reasons why you may be coming to this choice!  Either you've modeled in the past, you are looking to take sexy pictures for your boyfriend or maybe you are looking to break into the adult industry.

No matter your reason, you now have an important choice to make.  Once you have had your photo taken nude, your image is out there to be used in whatever way the photographer would like.  It's important to know your rights as a model and in most cases, you do not have many.

With your standard release that most photographers have you sign, you are signing away your rights to those images.  Understand that one day down the road, your image may end up on a pornography site, in a pack of sexy playing cards or blown up in neon lights on the front of an adult club.  If a photographer decides to sell your image as a stock image, it could literally end up anywhere in the world and you have no rights to have it removed.

These are important things to consider, as taking one photo could affect you at any point throughout your life.  Always work with photographers that you trust and ensure you check references if you are not familiar with the photographer. Ultimately you must never pose for a photo that you would not feel comfortable if it was released to the world, because any photo could be at any time.

If you are close to your family, friends or loved ones, we suggest you sit down and have an honest conversation with them before you enter into the world of nude modeling.  Ensure that you have a solid support system, as you are putting yourself out there to be judged and it takes that strong support system to keep your confidence high.

We feel that that nude modeling is one of the most empowering, liberating and beautiful things that a women can to.  With that being said, the biggest piece of advice that we can impart is to ensure that you set a standard for yourself of the type of art you want to produce and maintain it.  Do not allow yourself to ever be pressured to be pushed from your comfort zone, we have limits for a reason and we owe it to ourselves to stand by them.

We will go into further details with our next few blogs on how to handle every situation that comes up!  As always, we invite your questions so that we can assist you with your move into the modeling world!

  4. Hi Owen,

There are certainly some differences, however as we are females, we'd feel more comfortable having a successful male nude model contribute to the blog by writing a post based on his experiences. We will locate said model and have him share his knowledge with you! Stay tuned!
